born from a collaboration between Pontiac, Hurst performance and famous tuner John Lingenfelter in 1997. This unique firebird was based on the fourth generation firebird equipped with the WS6 performance package. The original plan was to limit the production to 50 units. However, the exact number was much less, with around 19 units produced from 1997 to 1998. The aesthetics were equally striking, featuring Hearst's signature, gold and black colour scheme distinctive badging and a unique hood scoop that not only added to its aggressive appearance, but also improved air flow to the engine. Under the hood, the car has a heavily modified 5.7 litre lt 1 V8 engine. Lingenfelters upgrades included ported cylinder heads, a more aggressive camshaft and a custom exhaust system boosting the engines output to an impressive 350 horsepower and 375 torque. These enhancements enable the beast to achieve a zero to 60 time of just four .6 seconds with a quarter mile time of 12.9 seconds at 103 mph according to motor trend.

The first place is none other than king of the hill, introduced as a high performance variant of the C4 corvette. The ZR1 was unveiled at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show and went on sale later that year. It was powered by the Revolutionary LT5 engine, a 5.7 litre V8 designed in collaboration with Lotus and built by Mercury Marine. This all aluminium, 32 valve DOHC engine produced an impressive 375 horsepower and 370 torque, allowing the ZR1 to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, and finish the quarter mile in a mere 12.8 seconds at 111 mph. In March 1990 AZR 1 shattered the 50 year old 24 hour speed record 185 mph over 24 hours, covering 4221 miles, and proving the cars remarkable durability and speed.
