developed by Ford special vehicle team. It was the third cobra our model following the success of the 1993 version. It was equipped with a potent 5.8 litre Windsor Phi 8 engine, producing 300 horsepower and 365 torque, a significant upgrade from the standard cobras 5.0 litre V8 To maximise performance, the Cobra R was stripped of non essential features, including air conditioning, a rear seat and the stereo system, resulting in a lighter, more track focused vehicle. It featured a tremec 5 speed manual transmission, 13 inch front and rear disc brakes, and a race tune suspension for superior handling and stopping power. While street legal 4 designed it for the track, requiring buyers to demonstrate their intent to race in IMSA, SCCA, NHRA or IHRA events only 250 of these race ready models were produced on the track. Enhanced by SLP to deliver 350 horsepower and 390 torque, significantly outstripping the standard firebird. The Firehawks enhanced powertrain allowed it to sprint from zero to 60 in just 4.6 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 13.2 seconds at 107 mph.  born from a collaboration between Pontiac, Hurst performance and famous tuner John Lingenfelter in 1997. This unique firebird was based on the fourth generation firebird equipped with the WS6 performance package. The original plan was to limit the production to 50 units. However, the exact number was much less, with around 19 units produced from 1997 to 1998. The aesthetics were equally striking, featuring Hearst's signature, gold and black colour scheme distinctive badging and a unique hood scoop that not only added to its aggressive appearance, but also improved air flow to the engine. Under the hood, the car has a heavily modified 5.7 litre lt 1 V8 engine. Lingenfelters upgrades included ported cylinder heads, a more aggressive camshaft and a custom exhaust system boosting the engines output to an impressive 350 horsepower and 375 torque. These enhancements enable the beast to achieve a zero to 60 time of just four .6 seconds with a quarter mile time of 12.9 seconds at 103 mph according to motor trend

In March 1990 AZR 1 shattered the 50 year old 24 hour speed record 185 mph over 24 hours, covering 4221 miles, and proving the cars remarkable durability and speed.
